Affirmative Negative Questions

Affirmative Negative Questions, also known as “Alternative Questions” and “正反问句 (zhèng-fǎn wènjù)” are very common in Chinese.  First, a verb is used in the positive, then the same verb is repeated in its negative form.  In English, we often follow a similar pattern, i.e. “Do you have money or not?”
