How to Change Your Device’s
Display Language
Changing your device’s display language changes the language used for menus, buttons, settings, and other system text. Choose your device below and follow the simple instructions to select your preferred language. Each section also includes a link to the manufacturer’s official support page for additional help.
Windows
- Open Start, then select Settings.
- Select Time & language, then Language & region.
- Under Language, choose a language from the Windows display language menu. If it is not listed, select Add a language first.
- Sign out of Windows and sign back in if prompted to apply the new display language.
Mac
- Open the Apple menu and select System Settings.
- Select General, then Language & Region.
- Under Preferred Languages, select the Add button and choose your language.
- Select the language you want to use as your primary language, then restart your Mac if prompted.
iPhone or iPad
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General, then Language & Region.
- Tap Add Language and select the language you want to use.
- When asked, select the new language as your primary language.
Android
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap System, then Language & region.
- Tap Preferred Language, then Add a language.
- Select your language and move it to the top of the preferred-language list.
Chromebook
- Select the time in the bottom-right corner, then select Settings.
- Select Advanced, then Languages and inputs.
- Select Languages. Next to Device language, select Change.
- Choose your language, then select Confirm and restart.
