Tone Practice Resources & Tools

Interactive Tone Drills

Created initially as a study tool for my own Mandarin practice, these interactive tone drills are now shared here for other learners to use as well. Each drill focuses on a specific tone-pair pattern and includes 50 HSK vocabulary words. Click any word to hear its pronunciation, then repeat it aloud for focused listening and speaking practice. The native speaker has a northern accent so she pronounced ying more like yung.

Video Exercises & Quizzes

Originally created for my own Mandarin study, these guided video exercises and quizzes are now available for other learners who might find them helpful. Follow along, listen carefully to each word, and repeat it aloud to strengthen your tone recognition and pronunciation through focused listening and repetition. The native speaker has a northern accent, so her pronunciation of ying may sound closer to yung.
