How to Add a Website to Your Home Screen
Add your favorite Chinese-learning websites to your phone, tablet, or computer for faster access. Choose your device and browser below, then follow the simple steps to create a Home Screen, Dock, desktop, or app shortcut.
iPhone & iPad
Safari- Open Safari and go to the website you want to add.
- Tap the Share button. Depending on your Safari layout, you may first need to tap the More button.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- If available, turn on Open as Web App if you want the website to open more like a standalone app.
- Tap Add. The website icon will appear on your Home Screen.
Android
Google Chrome- Open Chrome and go to the website you want to add.
- Tap the three-dot menu to the right of the address bar.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
- You can edit the name of the shortcut if desired.
- Then tap Add.
Mac
Safari · macOS Sonoma 14 or later- Open Safari and go to the website you want to use.
- From the menu bar, choose File → Add to Dock. You can also use the Share button and choose Add to Dock.
- Change the website name if you want.
- Click Add.
- The website will be saved as a web app and can be opened from the Dock, Applications, or Spotlight.
Windows, Mac, Linux & Chromebook
Google Chrome- Open Chrome and go to the website you want to install.
- Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Cast, save, and share → Install page as app.
- Some websites also show an Install icon in the address bar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the web app.
Windows & Mac
Microsoft Edge- Open Microsoft Edge and go to the website you want to add.
- Click Settings and more (the three-dot menu).
- Choose More tools → Apps → Install this site as an app.
- Follow the prompts to install the site.
- After installation, you can manage it from edge://apps and create a desktop shortcut or pin it to your taskbar or Start menu.
