Practice Tests
★ Practice with official TOCFL questions, audio, answers, and scoring materials. Official TOCFL Mock Test Platform provide free listening and reading practice across TOCFL levels, with downloadable questions, audio files, answer keys, listening transcripts, and score conversion charts. Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions are available, with several bilingual editions offered for some levels. Since 2024, TOCFL has also been expanding question-bank-style practice as the test moves toward computer-adaptive testing (CAT).

★ Get official strategies for all four TOCFL language skills. TOCFL Test-Taking Tips provides free preparation advice for the Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing tests, including strategies for identifying key information, managing test time, using preparation time effectively, and handling unfamiliar vocabulary. The speaking and writing sections also cover responding fully to prompts and preparing for Chinese input on computer-based tests.
★ Practice TOCFL Listening and Reading in an official computer-based testing environment. The TOCFL Online Mock Test Platform is a free official practice tool that lets learners work through computer-based Listening and Reading mock tests for Bands A, B, and C while becoming familiar with the on-screen test format and controls.

The TBCL Graded Vocabulary Standards Search System from Taiwan’s National Academy for Educational Research includes more than 14,000 words across seven proficiency levels, with options to narrow results by level, context, or specific vocabulary item. Entries include Traditional Chinese, Zhuyin, Pinyin and other useful word information

The TBCL Grammar Point Graded Standards Search System from Taiwan’s National Academy for Educational Research lets learners search grammar points by level or expression and view example sentences showing how each structure is used.

★ Study all seven TOCFL vocabulary levels with Zhuyin, Taiwanese Mandarin audio, and detailed Anki cards. TOCFL Anki Deck (N1–N2 & Levels 1–5) is a free community-made deck covering N1, N2, and Levels 1–5. Cards include Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Zhuyin, Taiwanese Mandarin pronunciation and audio, English definitions, parts of speech, example sentences, and character information. Pinyin can also be enabled through the deck settings. The deck is newly released and is still being refined based on learner feedback.

★ Import 7,517 TOCFL vocabulary terms into Pleco with level and part-of-speech information. TOCFL Pleco Flashcards is a free, community-made Pleco import based on the official 2022/2023 TOCFL vocabulary list, with words organized across seven TOCFL levels. To use it, download the tocfl-pleco.txt file from the Pleco forum, then in Pleco go to Import/Export → Import Cards. The creator's GitHub project provides the underlying wordlists, source information, corrections and additional file formats for anyone who wants more detail.
★ Browse TOCFL vocabulary by level with both Pinyin and Zhuyin. Taiwan Mandarin TOCFL Vocabulary Lists presents Taiwan's official 華語八千詞 vocabulary in an easy-to-browse format covering seven levels from Novice 1 through Level 5. Entries include Traditional Chinese, Pinyin, Zhuyin, English definitions, and parts of speech, with options to sort vocabulary by frequency or group it by part of speech.
