How to Change Your Device’s
Display Language

Changing your device’s display language changes the language used for menus, buttons, settings, and other system text. Choose your device below and follow the simple instructions to select your preferred language. Each section also includes a link to the manufacturer’s official support page for additional help.

Windows 11

  1. Open Start, then select Settings.
  2. Select Time & language, then Language & region.
  3. Choose your language from the Windows display language menu. If it is missing, select Add a language, choose your language, then select Next.
  4. If adding a language, make sure Language pack and Set as my Windows display language are selected. Select Install and wait for installation to finish.
  5. Save your work, then sign out of Windows and sign back in to apply the new display language.

Mac

  1. Open the Apple menu and select System Settings.
  2. Select General, then Language & Region.
  3. Under Preferred Languages, click the + button, choose your language, then click Add.
  4. Drag your preferred language to the top of the list. Restart your Mac if prompted to apply the change.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General, then Language & Region.
  3. Tap Add Language and select the language you want to use.
  4. When asked, select the new language as your primary language.

Android (Google Pixel)

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap System, then Language & region.
  3. Tap Preferred Language, then Add a language.
  4. Select your language and move it to the top of the preferred-language list.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Open Settings, then tap General management.
  2. Tap Language, then Add language.
  3. Choose your language. If it is not listed, tap the three-dot menu, then All languages.
  4. Tap Set as default. If the language was already added, select it from the language list and tap Apply.

Chromebook

  1. Select the time in the bottom-right corner, then select Settings.
  2. Select Advanced, then Languages and inputs.
  3. Select Languages. Next to Device language, select Change.
  4. Choose your language, then select Confirm and restart.
