好读 (hǎo dú) means “Good Reads.” The offer ebooks in several genres, including world classics. All their ebooks are free to download. They also offer web articles under 好读专栏 (hǎo dú zhuān lán) good reads columns.

Loyal Books is a free online library. To find their Chinese ebooks, scroll down to “Languages” in the left-hand menu, and select “Chinese.” Select “ebooks” as a filter under the top drop-down menu. Project Gutenberg (PG) is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks".   It was founded in 1971 by American writer Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library. Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of public domain books. The Project tries to make these as free as possible, in long-lasting, open formats that can be used on almost any computer. It has over 60,000 items in its collection of free eBooks, and offers many in Chinese.

QiDian Books offers a massive selection of online ebooks. Click into any book to see 内容介绍 (nèi róng jiè shào), a synopsis. You can get ebook versions for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and HTML5.

The selection here isn't huge, but there are many useful titles for Chinese students.To find them, change the language from English to 中文 (zhōng wén) in the upper right hand menu. When you click on a title, you’ll get a synopsis and details about the book, then you can click to purchase.

Tencent’s popular Chinese reading platform offers a large selection of contemporary books and other native reading material. Best suited for intermediate and advanced learners.

Weibo Books offers an excellent selection of world-renowned publications translated into Chinese, as well as original Chinese e-books. Click 放入书架 (fàng rù shū jià) to add it to your library (requires a free Weibo account), or click 立即阅读 (lì jí yuè dú) to start reading it online.
